Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana or S-VYASA is a Yoga University declared deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Notification Number F.9-45/2001-U.3 dated 8/5/2001 of the Government of India

Yoga Research and Yoga Therapy - two Yoga fields which S-VYASA has poured life into!

Over the years, S-VYASA has been substantiating scientific validation through Research @ S-VYASA. We have successfully published more than 150 papers which have all been indexed in Medline and/or Psychlit/Psychinfo. S-VYASA has carried itself as a Centre of Advanced Research (CAR) in Yoga and Neurophysiology accredited by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

S-VYASA also houses one-of-its-kind Yoga Therapy Home with a 250-bed inpatient treatment facility called Arogyadhama. This is a Yoga Research Health Home which has been envisioned for prevention and treatment of Diseases, long-term rehabilitation and for Promotion of Positive Health.

Yoga Courses at our S-VYASA Yoga University are recognised by the University Grants Commission, Government of India. We now have 50 PhDs 100 MScs and over 350 students in various branches. We have so far produced 6 PhDs and 2 MDs from our University, one from HUA, 6 from Bangalore University.

S-VYASA campus is 32 kms away from Bangalore. The campus is called Prashanti Kutiram, the Abode of Peace. Lying in the lap of nature amidst greenery, the campus lies sprawling over 100 acres. The campus is about 15 kms from the bountiful Bannerughatta National Park.

S-VYASA has an exhaustive Yoga Library with a good collection of 15000 books, videos and books SVYP (Swami Vivekananda Yoga Prakashan) is the publication wing of S-VYASA. We have about 35 titles, Videos and Audios

Svyasa has, over the years, standardized such Advanced Yoga techniques as CM (Cyclic Meditation), PET (Pranic Energisation Technique), MSRT (Mind Sound Resonance Technique), MEMT (Mastering the Emotions Technique), MIRT (Mind Imagery Technique), VISAK (Vignana Sadhana Kausalya) and ANAMS (Anandamrita Sinchana)

International Yoga Conferences at S-VYASA have been very popular in attracting some of the best Academia IJOY or International Journal of Yoga has been officially launched and will soon be indexed. On the IJOY website, one can read entire research papers published freely. We are hoping to make this journal a platform to bring together all researches by all Schools of Yoga!

  • Yoga Intensive For Sportsman (YIS)
    Objectives : To give an intensive training for sportsmen to make them get the benefits of yoga and spiritual lore to learn the art of reducing their stresses on one hand and to develop the skills needed for enhancement of performance.
     

  • Holistic System Management (HOLYSM)
    Objectives : Management Systems have been evolving from time to time in tune with the human growth. Scientific methodology and the tools of research have enlarged their vision and refined their strategies. It is at this 'turning point' in science that the ancient Yoga and Spiritual lore of India is offering a comprehensive vision and a variety of tools for the management systems. Objective of this introductory Holistic Systems Management (HOLYSM) course is to add dimension of Health, growth and contributions through yoga to Total Quality Management.
     

  • Self-Management of Excessive Tension (SMET)
    Objectives : To release excessive stresses and improve executive efficiency. Also to prevent stress induced ailments and improve the quality of life.
     

  • Basic Course in Music (BCM)
    Objectives : To give an initial training for yoga students into music: mainly Sruthi and Tala Jnana and make them learn simple Bhajans, dhuns, namavalis, etc for participation in bhajan sessions.
     

  • Personality Development Camp (PDC)
    Objectives : Modern children are full of energy. If the students are made to learn the techniques of channelising their energies right from the beginning, they will be able to grow harmoniously. Yoga can bring about all-round personality development at physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual levels. The present course is designed with this in view.
     

  • Spiritual Retreat (SPR)
    Objectives : Ever engrossed in incessant activity, modern man needs some respite to revitalize himself periodically. Our grand Spiritual Heritage offers a scientific means to release packed-up tensions, to cleanse the mind of in built limitations, to solve inner conflicts- intellectual and emotional. Further it acquaints us with our real nature, the potentially divine character. This itself will bring a great transformation in our outlook. And when this happens at the nature's lap, far from the maddening crowds, an experience of harmonious living emerges.
     

  • Yoga Intensive (YIN)
    Objectives :
    This course is meant for persons deeply interested in 'Yoga way of life' desirous of specializing in one or more yoga practices. After giving a broad outline of theory in this course, Yogic practices are emphasized. Opportunities exist in Prashanti Kutiram to specialize in Asanas, Pranayama, Kriyas, Mudras, Bandhas, Meditation, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, etc. Depending on the interest of the persons, courses will be tailor-made to suit them. Karma Yoga is a part of the course. Good library facilities are available. Yoga and Spiritual masters stay in the Campus to guide the aspirants. This course is also open to those persons who just want to spend some time in deep sadhana without any hindrance and disturbance.

    Objectives :
