As we all know the city of Bhopal is known for its beautiful lakes, symbolising quite splendor and solitude offering an excellent environment for learning, thinking and developing young creative minds.

B.A.LL.B (Hons.) course is of five years duration with a trimester system. There are three trimesters in a year and each trimester is of three months duration. In each trimester students are taught four core courses and at least two skill courses like Computer, English, Legal Writing, Accountancy, Research Methodology etc. In the final year in addition to the compulsory courses students have to choose from a number of optional courses. (Please refer to the List of Subjects).

NLIU follows a system of continuous evaluation. In each trimester a student has to undertake a mid term examination an end term examination and a project work (written and presentation) in each paper and a viva-voce examination.

LL.M. course is of two years duration and is divided into four semesters. University offers specialization in Human Rights, Intellectual Property & Business Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Business Law and Criminal Law. Allocation of LL.M. subject specializations will be done at the time of admission on the basis of merit. A specialization will be offered subject to the availability of faculty and sufficient number of students opting for it.

A student in each semester has to undertake an end semester examination and a project work in each paper, which includes written submissions and presentation. In the final semester the student has to submit a dissertation and undertake a viva-voce examination.

Ph.D course is of two years duration. Admission to Ph.D. programme is through an entrance test conducted by the University.

A joint collaboration between " The National Law Institute University, Bhopal (www.nliu.ac.in)" and "Rajiv Gandhi Proudoygiki Vishwavidhyalay, Bhopal (www.rgpv.ac.in)" the Master of Science in Cyber Law and Information Security (MSCLIS) course aims to develop the skills required to address the issues related to cyber space and Information Security on technological grounds and relate these to legal problems. It aims to give a detailed understanding of national and international regulatory paradigms and its relevance with respect to Cyber Law.

The University also offers to its B.A.LL.B (Hons.) and LL.M. students non-credit courses such as Competition Law, Comparative Jurisprudence, International Commercial Arbitration, Global Terrorism, Cyber Law, Law and Economics, Maritime Law, etc.
